The Great Cold Distance is the seventh full-length album by Swedish band Katatonia . The release was released on March 13, 2006 via Peaceville Records . There is also a limited box version of the publication (only for distribution in Sweden ), including a group poster, postcards and a video clip for the My Twin track.

The album was re-released on March 12, 2007 on two CDs (two bonus tracks were added, the second disc is an album in DVDA format with 5.1 surround sound). [1] The release was eighth on PopMatters' 2006 best metal album list. [2]
