Owl ( lat. Athene , from other Greek. Ἀθήνη - “ Athens ”, “ Athena ”) is a widespread bird of the owl family, a inhabitant of primarily open landscapes. Settles in small and large cities, rural areas, steppes, semi-deserts, deserts, rocky areas. Avoids mountain and cold zones, where it cannot get food due to deep snow.

Biological lat. Athene - from dr. Ἀθήνη , - the epic Athens , as well as the ionic Athena . An owl and a snake are sacred animals that accompany Athena, symbols of wisdom. The owl was also considered a symbol of the city of Athens.
