Twenty-First Amendment to the US Constitution at the National Archives
The twenty-first amendment to the US Constitution entered into force on December 5, 1933 .
Repealed the previously adopted Eighteenth Amendment (Prohibition). In this case, restrictions on the turnover of alcohol at the state level are allowed. This situation is the only case in US history when a constitutional amendment repeals a previous amendment.

| Section 1. The eighteenth article of amendments to the Constitution of the United States is hereby repealed. Section 2. Transportation or importation into any state, into any territory, or into any possession of the United States for the delivery or consumption of alcoholic beverages in violation of the laws in force therein is hereby prohibited. Section 3. This article does not enter into force until it is ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the conventions of individual states in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution within seven years after Congress submits it to the states.
