Italy Open Tennis Championship 2008 - the 65th draw of the annual professional tennis tournament for men and women, held in the Italian city of Rome , which is part of the ATP tour of the Masters series and the WTA tour of the series of tournaments of the 1st category .

In 2008, the tournament was held from May 5 to May 18 : men's competitions were played in the first week, and women's competitions in the second. The competition continued the near-European series of unpaved tournaments, preparing for the May Roland Garros .
