(2258) Viipuri ( Finnish Viipuri ) is a main-belt asteroid that was discovered on October 7, 1939 by the Finnish astronomer Irie Vyaysalya in the Turku Observatory , Finland, and is named after the city of Vyborg , which in 1939 was part of Finland and was called Viipuri [ 1] .
