Stanislav Chechek ( Czech: Stanislav Čeček ; November 13, 1886 , Lishno - May 29, 1930 , Ceske Budejovice ) - Czechoslovak general, participant in the civil war in Russia.

Biography

Born in the family of a forester. He studied at the gymnasium in Tabor , at the trade school in Prague .

In 1904, after graduating from a trade school, he was called up for active service in the Austro-Hungarian army, where he was trained in courses by reserve officers. Since 1911 he worked as an accountant in a branch of the Czech company “ Laurin & Klement ” (since 1925 - the Skoda auto concern) in Moscow .

With the outbreak of World War I, he remained in Russia. In August 1914, he volunteered for the Czech squad of the Russian army, commanded a company and a battalion. He participated in battles near Zborov and Bakhmach . March 31, 1917 for courage and skillful leadership awarded the Order of St. George 4th degree.

In 1917 he participated in the formation of the Czechoslovak Corps . September 6, 1917 he was appointed deputy commander of the 4th Rifle Regiment named after Prokop Naked.

Present on May 20, 1918 at the Congress of delegates of all parts of the Czechoslovak Corps in Chelyabinsk . He joined the then formed Military Council of three persons to coordinate the actions of disparate groups of the corps and establish contacts with local anti-Bolshevik organizations. During the rebellion of the Czechoslovak Corps (May 1918) took command of the echelons concentrated in the Penza region, becoming the commander of one of the largest groups of the Czechoslovak Corps of 8 thousand people - Penza, concentrated at the time of the outbreak of hostilities in the cities of Serdobsk - Balashov - Penza. He opposed the Bolsheviks in Penza on May 28, 1918, then moved his forces to Syzran . He participated in the overthrow of Soviet power in Samara on June 8, 1918. With his active help, Ufa was taken. Organizer of the successful promotion of anti-Bolshevik troops in Simbirsk . In early July 1918 he again arrived in Samara with the rank of colonel as head of the 1st Czechoslovak Division. By order of July 17, 1918, Chechek was appointed Commander-in-Chief of all the troops of the People’s Army of KOMUCH and mobilized units of the Orenburg and Ural Cossack troops. Since mid-July 1918 - Commander of the Volga Front of the People’s Army KOMUCH . Major General (September 2, 1918), one of the leaders of the Czechoslovak National Council in Siberia in 1918-1920.

In October 1918 he left for Vladivostok . The commander of the group of troops of Czechoslovakia in Siberia (January 1919 - September 1920). As part of the Czechoslovak Corps in September 1920, he was evacuated from Vladivostok to Czechoslovakia.

After returning to his homeland, he was appointed deputy chief of the General Staff of the Czechoslovak Armed Forces. From 1921 to 1923, the general studied at the French military academy École supérieure de guerre and at the courses of military pilots in Paris .

In October 1924 he was appointed head of the military office of the President of the Republic Masaryk and promoted to the rank of division general. Since 1926, he headed the aviation department of the Ministry of National Defense. In 1928, Chechek was appointed commander of the 5th Infantry Division in Ceske Budejovice.

He died in 1930.
