Handy Backup Server Network is designed for use in local and distributed networks of various levels. This solution may be in demand, for example, for backup in the networks of small businesses, departments and units of large organizations, research institutes, educational institutions, IT service providers, etc.

On June 1, 2016, the Handy Backup Server Network software solution was added [1] under No. 1027 to the Unified Register of computer programs and databases created by the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation in accordance with federal law.

Program Operation

Handy Backup Server Network works according to the client-server scheme and involves installing the server part of the program on the server and installing client programs on workstations. The creation and configuration of backup, restore and synchronization tasks is carried out using the Task Wizard; centralized management of the creation and functioning of tasks can be done through a graphical interface (GUI).

Key Features

You can choose between full, incremental and differential backups, as well as the possibility of multi-level ZIP compression and encryption of backups using the Blowfish algorithm. The built-in scheduler allows you to perform tasks at a specified time or in conjunction with certain events. The program can work as a Windows service, without even requiring a user to enter the system. Reports on the results of each task can be sent to the specified e-mail or displayed in a special report window.

  • Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines, servers, nodes and arrays of virtual machines;
  • Windows registry
  • disk image - full copying of a hard disk with any file system or its partitions, including as a disk image for a virtual machine or boot disk;
  • letters, contacts, Microsoft Outlook settings;
  • data from FTP , SFTP, FTPS servers, including SSL encryption.

Supported backup media

  • any local and network media available in the Windows Explorer environment (including FireWire , USB );
  • remote FTP , FTPS and SFTP servers;
  • cloud services: Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Yandex.Disk , Amazon S3 ,
  • Private cloud backup storage - HBDrive.

Recovery

  • By default, the data is copied in the native (original) format, which allows you to work with the data directly in copies and even restore it manually;
  • automatic full and partial recovery, with the ability to delete all data other than recovered;
  • recovery of individual files and folders;
  • selective recovery of databases or a single table in the database;
  • restore to the original location or select a new data location (provides the ability to clone or replicate data).

Sync

  • one-way and two-way synchronization with the ability to configure rules for replacing files of the same name.

System Requirements

  • Processor with a clock frequency of 300 MHz.
  • 128 MB of RAM.
  • 256 MB of free disk space for the server part of the program or 25 MB for the client program;
  • Automatic selection of 32- or 64-bit versions during installation in accordance with the version of the OS used;
  • Currently, the program is compatible with operating systems Microsoft Windows 10 , Microsoft Windows 8 , Microsoft Windows 7 , Windows Server 2008 (R2) , Windows Vista , Windows Server 2012 (R2) (it has the logos β€œCertified for Windows Vista”, β€œCompatible with Windows 7 "and others.);
  • Network Agents of the program are also delivered in the form of RPM or DEB distributions for popular versions of Linux OS package managers.
