Geography

The village is located in the southern part of the Giaginsky district , on the right bank of the Ulka River. Located 4 km east of the center of the rural settlement is the village of Kelermes , 12 km south-east of the district center is the village of Giaginskaya and 25 km northeast of the city of Maykop .

The area of ​​the village is 0.41 km 2 , which accounts for 0.30% of the total area of ​​the rural settlement.

The nearest settlements are: Kelermes in the west, Sadovy in the northeast and Sergievsky in the east.

The village is located on the Zakuban inclined plain, in the transition from the plain to the foothill zone of the republic. The average altitude in the village is 167 meters above sea level. The terrain consists mainly of foothill undulating plains, with a general slope from the southwest to the northeast and with various hilly and mound hills. The river valleys are indented by beams and depressions.

The hydrographic network is mainly represented by the Ulka River and its right tributary, Malaya Ulka, which flows into it at the southern outskirts of the village. The river valleys are occupied by dense mixed forest.

The climate is mild and temperate, with hot summers and cool winters. The average annual air temperature is positive and amounts to about + 11.5 ° С. The average monthly air temperature in July reaches + 23.0 ° С. The average monthly temperature in January is about 0 ° C. The average annual rainfall is about 750 mm. Most precipitation falls from May to July.

The village was founded in 1895, as a settlement of the village of Kelermes.
