Audi RS4 - a sports-oriented compact prestigious car from Audi Sport GmbH [1] , produced in limited quantities for the German automaker Audi AG (a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group ). The car is faster than the Audi S4 and most A4 -based sports-oriented cars of the B series.

Description
The first version of the B5 was initially only available in the Avant variant ( Audi AG brand name for station wagon bodies). The next generation B7 first appeared with a sedan body, Avant'es appeared a bit later and convertibles were added even later.
The abbreviation "RS" in the name of the car comes from the German R enn S port ( Russian motorsport ). Like all Audi RS cars, the RS4 is equipped with the latest technology and can be ranked as a car that runs on the company's image. In addition, the Audi RS4 in all versions is equipped with a quattro system based on Torsen differentials for four-wheel drive vehicles.
In 2006-2008 participated in the SuperStars Series , where they won two titles, both Gianni Morbidelli .

The production of the original Audi RS4 Avant quattro B5 B5 (Typ 8D) was introduced by AUDI AG at the end of 1999 for subsequent sale in 2000, as a successor to the Porsche / Quattro GmbH joint venture developed by Audi RS2 Avant. RS4, like its predecessor RS2, was only available as Avant (Audi name for station wagon), and was also built on the existing Volkswagen Group B5 platform in conjunction with A4 and S4. The car was available for sale in most countries of Europe, parts of Asia and in some countries of Latin America.

Audi representatives said they did not plan to produce RS4 in the new B8 body, but in the spring of 2011 they managed to get spy photos of the alleged Audi RS4 Avant car [2] . The car has been produced since 2012 and has a power plant similar to the Audi RS5 (V8 4,2l, 450 hp). Sedans in this generation RS4 were not produced.
