The region in the east borders with the Avdal region ( Somalia , also Avdal and the territory claimed by the unrecognized Somaliland ), in the south with the region of Ethiopia - Somalia , in the west with the Djibouti region - Dhil , and in the north with the Djibouti region - Arta .
