Funk, Joseph Borisovich

Iosif Borisovich Funk ( February 20, 1935 , Bobruisk - July 16, 2014 , Chisinau ) - Moldavian Soviet athlete (checkers) and coach. Honored coach of Moldova, USSR master of sports, international referee.

Graduated from Chisinau State University .

He played for the national team of Moldova, together with L. Benderskaya , A. Schwartzman, A. Dunaevsky and others. Prizewinner of the USSR team championship (1959). Among the students are world champions Ion Dalka and Elena Borisova , Igor Koifman , masters V. Weinberg, V. Spivak, Yu. Reznik, Irina Parpulova , Angel Shvartsman and others.

Wife - USSR master of sports in drafts Irina Stepanovna Parpulova [1] .
