Biography

Klausen's ancestors immigrated to Argentina from the Swiss village of Ernen in the canton of Valais around 1889.

At the age of 16, Nestor went from his native province to a training base for young football players of the Argentinean football grandee, the Independiente Club. Less than a year later, he made his debut in the main team against the Tigre - it happened on August 17, 1980. The match ended with the score 1-0 in favor of the Klausen team.

As part of the Red Devils, Klausen repeatedly became the champion of Argentina, won the Libertadores Cup and the Intercontinental Cup in 1984. In 1986, he became the world champion in the Argentine national team. After winning the tournament, letters began to come to him in French and German from Swiss fans. Nestor talked with his father about the history of the family and found out about its origin. At the end of the winning season of 1989, Nestor decided to move to the Sion football club from the Swiss championship, thus returning as a representative of his family to his historical homeland 100 years later. There he won the Cup and the Swiss Championship.

In 1995, Nestor returned to Argentina, but already in the composition of another club from Avellaneda - Racing. Together with him, he became the winner of the second most important tournament in South America at that time - the Super Cup Libertadores. He ended his career as a football player Klausen in a club from the suburb of Avellaneda - Arsenale from Sarandi , who then played in the lower divisions (and in 2007 will win the South American Cup ). Thus, Klausen played for all three of the most important clubs in his city, two of which are among the oldest, most titled and respected in the country.

During his career, Klausen has acted under the guidance of such trainers as Pastoris , Menotti , Bilardo . From each of them, he learned certain tactical skills and coaching tricks. Klausen began his coaching career with the Independiente youth teams. At that time, the club was in a rather serious crisis, “Indus” was almost on the verge of bankruptcy. At some point, Klausen decided to train professional clubs on his own. Therefore, he went to Bolivia, and in the first season, the Oriente Petrolero club, under his leadership, took second place in the national championship.

In 2003, Klausen was already training Strongest. This was the first season when two champions in a year began to be identified in Bolivia - the winner of the Aperture and the winner of Klausura. And both of these championships were won by Strongest.

Klausen then coached the Argentinean Chakarita and Huracan ( Tres Aroyos ). Since 2007, he headed the Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax. He then worked with Al-Kuwait Club (Kuwait) in 2009, Bolivar in 2010 and Dubai in 2011. From 2012 to 2015 he trained Bolivian teams. Then he worked in Ecuador and Tunisia . In 2017, he returned to Bolivia.
