The Archbishop of Vienna ( Erzbischöfe von Wien ) is a prelate of the Roman Catholic Vienna Archdiocese , who is also the metropolitan of the church province , including the dioceses of Eisenstadt , Linz , St. Pölten .
History
From 1469 to 1513, the bishops were located elsewhere and were appointed administrators of the Vienna diocese. The first bishop living in Vienna was Georg von Zlatkon . From 1861 to 1918, the archbishops were members of the House of Lords, were represented in the Reichsrat of Cisleytania and bore the title of prince-archbishop .
