Shereshevo [2] ( Belorussian. Sherashava ) is an urban village in the Pruzhany district of the Brest region of Belarus on the Levaya Lesnaya River 20 km west of Pruzhany , 32 km from the Oranchitsy railway station on the Brest - Baranovichi line , 97 km from Brest. The population of 1759 people (as of January 1, 2017) [1] .

Content
History
It is known since 1380 as a village in Kamenetsky , in 1566 in the Beresteysky district of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . During the wars of the mid XVII-beginning of the XVIII century. repeatedly destroyed, in 1661 exempted from taxes for four years. In the 1790s 3366 inhabitants, 561 houses.
Since 1795, as part of the Russian Empire , the town , the center of the volost of Pruzhany district . In 1897 there were 5079 inhabitants, 1584 houses, 9 small enterprises, and a public school.
Since 1915 it was occupied by the Germans, from 1919 - by Polish troops. In 1921-1939 as part of Poland , the city, the center of the commune of Pruzhany .
Since 1939, it has been part of the BSSR ; since January 1940, it has been an urban village, the center of the district.
Under German occupation was 3 years and 1 month - from June 23, 1941 to July 17, 1944 [3] .

Historical Monuments
In the XVII and XIX centuries. in the Prechistenskaya church (not preserved) there was the so-called Shereshev Gospel , now kept in the National Art Museum of Belarus .
A belfry was built in the village, built near the Prechistenskaya Church in 1799 and, as an architectural monument, protected by the state.
Shereshevskaya Peter and Paul Church is also a monument of wooden architecture. Built in 1824 , one-cabin, has the features of classicism .
Shereshevsky Trinity Church was built in 1848 in the style of late classicism . The interior of the church in the 1850-1860s. painted with frescoes: angels with musical instruments.
St. Nicholas Church in the pseudo-Russian style was built in the second half of the XIX century.
There is also a monument on the mass grave of partisans.
