Paul Decauville ( fr. Paul Decauville ; 1846 - 1922 ) - French engineer , developer of a light rail system with a gauge of 500 mm. This track was named after him the Dekavilev track . He is the owner of the gold medal of the World Exhibition of 1878 .

Paul Decaville also served as mayor of Evry-Petit-Bourke and a senator from the Seine and Oise department .
The name of Paul Decaville is also associated with the cities of Corby-Eson and Evry in which the factories of his Decauville company were created. It was not the only company founded by DeCaville, he also founded the construction company Comptoir d'Outillage et de matériel à air comprimé (nowadays non-existent), as well as the engineering company specializing in hydraulic presses EmiDecau (now known as Pinette EmiDecau Industries, Chalon-en- Champagne ).
In 1899, Paul DeCaville participated in the world's first automobile races, took 15th place.
