Kurchatova Street - a street in the Konovalovo microdistrict of the city of Mariinsky Posad, Chuvash Republic [1] [2] [3] . It takes place in the western "sleeping" part of the city and is one of the largest in the Mariinsky Posad. It was formed in the 1970s on the western outskirts of the city in the territory between the former villages of Konovalovo and Novinskoye, included in the city of Mariinsky Posad more than a century ago during the unification of several settlements and villages around the village of Sundyr. More than 6 television channels (including three federal ones from Moscow) and several newspapers and magazines (including the Ogonyok magazine [4] [5] [6] ) visited this street in 2005-2010. Content
Name Origin
It received its current name in honor of the outstanding Soviet physicist Igor Vasilievich Kurchatov (1903-1960), the organizer and director of work on atomic science and technology in the USSR.
Architecture
Here in 1978 was built (populated in 1979-1980) the first large-panel house in the Mariinsky Posad (“Kiev Project”) with 5 floors (No. 12) with loggias (north side) and balconies (south side). The street is built up with residential buildings (five- and two-story), and the first monolithic house in Mariinsky Posad was built here (No. 15, 5 floors with loggias).

On the street are residential buildings (No. 1 - No. 18) of the municipal fund, as well as kindergartens "Alyonushka" (opened in 1991; house 20) and "Rainbow" (2011; earlier in 1989-2002 there was a kindergarten "Sun", It was closed in 2002 and its building housed a model library, a children's art school, a school of creativity for schoolchildren, a center for psychological and pedagogical services, a hairdresser, a gynecological private practice room, a department of a general practitioner; house No. 11B), retail outlets, cafes, pizzerias and other [11] [12]
