Born on October 20, 1963 in the village of Vladimiromikhaylovka (Columbai), Atbasar district, Akmola region. The family had Russian and Ukrainian roots. When Anatoly was 4 years old, his mother was paralyzed, and his father left the family. My brother Andrei and I were both houseworkers [1] .

Soon his family moved to the city of Atbasar . By the age of fourteen, he had a year and a half to take up the struggle that he had abandoned. At that age, he weighed only 33 kilograms, height was 135 centimeters.

The coach was Alexander Sidorov . About a year, coach Sidorov did not let Khrapaty to the bar, as well as other children - they were engaged in general physical training. Then he began to lift the barbell [1] .

After leaving the “big sport”, he was offered the job of the head coach of the Kazakhstan weightlifting team, which he accepted when the team was in a crisis situation - there was not enough funding even to provide training for leading athletes [1] . The last five years he worked in the Sports Committee of CSKA of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan [2] .
