The surface area of the reservoir is about 280 km² (depending on the water level). Depth - up to 3-4 meters. The lake lies not far from the right bank of the Amur River, to which a channel is connected nearby, and zigzag elongates from east to west for 50 km, with a width of up to 9 km.
Kizi is divided into several parts: Gulf of Ai , Lower Kizi , Upper Kizi . The Yai, Pei-Khoi, Zerkalny, Dolontsi, Kirpichny, Malaya Chilba, Pokusaev, Duldi, Bolshoi Tabo, Sigovaya, Shitnikovskaya, Sanniki, Pereboyka and other rivers flow into the lake.
The lake is separated from the Tatar Strait by a strip of land 8.5 km wide with heights of up to 55 m. There is a canal project through this lowland, which would avoid the shallow and dangerous mouths of the Amur River and extend the period of navigation, since the lower part of the Amur Current is covered with ice much longer [2] .
On the shores of Lake Kizi there are settlements of the Ulchi region: Kizi , Chilba , Tulinskoye , Big Sanniki , Mariinsky Raid .
