Howard Duane "Skydog" Allman ; November 20, 1946 , Nashville , USA - October 29, 1971 , Macon , USA) is an American guitarist who played with The Allman Brothers Band , which he created with by his brother Gregg . Also known as session guitarist . He played mainly on Gibson guitars [3] .

In 2011, Rolling Stone magazine put him in ninth [4] place on his list of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time (in 2003 he was second on the same list).

Biography
Dwayne Allman was born November 20, 1946 in the capital of Tennessee - the city of Nashville , known as the capital of country music . He learned to play the guitar on his own - listening to Muddy Waters , Robert Johnson and other blues musicians of past years. He recorded his first single “ Spoonful ” with his brother in 1966 as part of The Allman Joys .
In 1969, the Allman brothers formed the band The Allman Brothers Band , which recorded their first album on Capricorn Records in . The peak of the guitarist’s popularity came in 1970, when Dwayne happened to work together with Eric Clapton in the group Derek and the Dominos on the album “ Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs ” [5] .
Allman died tragically on October 29, 1971, having crashed on a motorcycle in Macon ( Georgia , USA ) at the age of 24. Allman's memorial service was held on Monday, November 1, 1971, at the Snow Memorial Chapel in Macon, Georgia. The chapel, filled with family and friends, was attended by many musicians who were part of his life to mourn death. [6]
