Born into a Thai-Chinese family. The leader of the Democratic Party of Thailand since February 2005 . The House of Representatives on December 15, 2008 approved him as the Prime Minister of Thailand [1] . He left the post of prime minister and party leader after losing in 2011 parliamentary elections to rivals in the face of the Pyah Thai party under the leadership of Yinglak Chinawat .
He again left the post of chairman of the Democratic Party on March 24, 2019 due to poor results obtained in the parliamentary elections [2] .
