Magellan Navigation (formerly Thales Navigation ) is a well-known manufacturer of GPS receivers . The head office is in the USA . Devices are intended for user (geocaches, tourists, motorists) and professional (aviation, marine navigation, geodesy) applications.

In December 2008, part of Magellan Navigation, which produced consumer GPS electronics (mainly under Windows Mobile and Windows CE ), was purchased by Taiwanese Mitac [1] .

The Magellan Navigation Professional division, which produced professional equipment, was renamed back to Ashtech in January 2010 .
