Vietsovpetro is an oil company, a joint Russian-Vietnamese enterprise. The headquarters of the company is in the city of Vung Tau ( Vietnam ) [1] . This city is home to a significant Russian-speaking community of JV employees.

History
JV Vietsovpetro was created in 1981 on an equal footing by the Vietnamese state oil company PetroVietnam and the Soviet state-owned Zarubezhneft OJSC [2] .
The statutory fund of the enterprise as of January 1, 1991 was estimated at $ 1.5 billion, with the share of each party at 50%. The intergovernmental agreement on the creation of the Vietsovpetro joint venture expires on December 31, 2010 . In 2006, an agreement was reached to continue the activities of the joint venture after 2010. [2]
On October 30, 2010, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Zarubezhneft and Petrovietnam Oil and Gas Group in the framework of the Vietsovpetro joint venture after 2010.
Activities
The company is developing under the terms of a production sharing agreement (PSA) a number of oil and gas fields on the Vietnamese shelf . The main field (80% of production) is the White Tiger . The well stock of the enterprise includes a little more than a hundred high-yield (up to a thousand tons of oil per day) wells. The company employs more than 650 Russian specialists.
At the end of 2009, the company produced 183 million tons of oil [2] . The joint venture provides almost a third of Vietnam’s foreign exchange earnings, and the Russian side’s profit for this period amounted to more than $ 5 billion with a total investment of $ 750 million.
In 2005, the company's oil production amounted to 10.65 million tons. In 2005, 17.1 billion rubles were transferred to the Russian budget from the activities of Vietsovpetro.
In August 2012, a 200 millionth ton of oil was produced from the White Tiger and Dragon m / rs.
