Career
Burnett joined professionals in 1992, just during the “snooker boom”. The first and so far the last victory came to the Scotsman at the Benson & Hedges Championship in 1994 , although the tournament was not rated and the top 16 snooker players did not participate in it. Burnett's best achievement in the ranking competition remains the 2010 Shanghai Masters finals, where he lost to Ali Carter with a score of 7:10.
Burnett Record
Jamie Burnett is known for the fact that in 2004 at the UK Championship he made the highest break for the entire existence of the Main Tour - 148 points. The event took place in a qualifying match against Leo Fernandez . In that position, Burnett received a free ball and ordered brown as an extra red. Then he again played brown and all 15 red with 12 black, one blue and two pink balls. After the match ended, the Scot said: “I really did not know how to react to this. At first it seemed to me that this was not such a big achievement, however, then I realized that I went down in history ” [2] .
