Gidzhak ( Persian. غيژک , Tadj. Lizyak, Kandak ; Uzb. G`ijjak, Lizhzhak ) is a stringed stringed instrument of the peoples of Central Asia ( Tajiks , Turkmen , Uzbeks , Uighurs ), a close relative of the Persian Kemancha . The tool body is spherical (made from pumpkin , large walnut, wood or other materials) tightened in leather. The number of gidzhak strings is variable, most often - three. Three-stringed gijak stitch, usually es 1 , as 1 , des 2 (E-flat, A-flat, first octave , D-flat, second octave ). The instrument range covers about one and a half octaves.
When playing, the gijak is held vertically, playing with a bow that has the shape of a bow . Modern gidzhaki have four strings.
- In 2004, the Tajikistan Post, together with Kazpost, issued postage stamps depicting the folk instruments Gidzhak (Tajik) and Adyrna (Kazakh).
Gidzhak was invented by the medieval Persian scientist, philosopher and physician Avicenna in the 11th century AD. er
