Biography
The pupil of Vincenz Lachner , then in 1886 - 1889 . He studied in Vienna with Anton Bruckner , about which he later published the memoir “Years of my training with Bruckner” ( German: Meine Lehrjahre bei Bruckner ; 1927 ). In 1906 - 1907 taught at the Basel Conservatory , then until 1919 . in the Munich Academy of Music , where among his students were, among others, Max Butting , Wilhelm Petersen , Bodo Wolf , Miloi Milojevic and Paul Ben-Haim . Then he lived and worked in Switzerland. Shortly before his death, he was awarded, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, the title of honorary doctor of the University of Bern .
Heritage Klose includes a number of symphonic poems, including "Loreley", "Life is a dream" ( it. Das Leben ein Traum ), "Jeanne d'Arc", "King-elf", "Fairy tale" ( him. Das Märchen ) et al., as well as mass and other choral compositions. Stylistically, Klose's work is close to Richard Strauss .
