The 2007/08 season began successfully, but in November he was put up for the rejection draft and moved to Phoenix Coyotes , where he was the main goalkeeper for 4 years and 2 times went out with the team in the playoffs after an 8-year break.

In the 2009/2010 season, he was nominated for the Vezina Trophy - the prize for the best goalkeeper in the opinion of the general managers of the NHL clubs, but the best goalkeeper of the Buffalo Sabers was chosen Ryan Miller . In 2011, a month before the expiration of the contract, exchanged “coyotes” to “ Philadelphia ”. In return, the “pilots” gave forward Matt Clarkson and two picks at the 2012 draft. Ilya Bryzgalov signed a contract with Philadelphia for a period of nine years and an amount of $ 51.5 million [7] . After the season ended, Bryzgalov's contract was redeemed, thereby becoming an unlimited free agent .

On November 8, 2013, he signed a contract with the Edmonton Oilers club with a salary of $ 1.75 million until the end of the season [8] . Immediately after completing the contract, Ilya was sent to the Oklahoma City Barons team from the AHL in order to gain form [9] . In the first match for “Oklahoma” missed 5 goals [10] .
