Bokh I - king of Mauritania from 118 to 91 BC e., trying at the beginning of the Yugurtinsky war to establish allied relations with Rome [1] .
In 106 BC, under the influence of his son-in-law, Yugurty entered the war on the side of Numidia , but he suffered several serious defeats in the battles with the army of Guy Maria . In 105 BC e. the latter forced him to give Yugurt to the Romans, for which Bokh was rewarded with the concession to part of Numidia. Bokh struck up a friendly relationship with the questor Sulla , who had come to him after the captive Yugurta, who, presumably, was enriched by his generosity.
Bokh continued to remain loyal to Rome . After his death in 33 BC e. his son Bokh II of Mauritania was turned into a Roman province .
