The film about the all-conquering love of Vakula and Oksana takes place in the 18th century in the picturesque Ukrainian village of Dikanka and in the royal palace in St. Petersburg on the eve of Christmas .
The palace scenes of the film were shot in the Mariinsky Palace of Kiev [2] .

Story
The film consists of two series. The first series takes place in the Ukrainian village of Dikanka. In the second part, the viewer, along with the main character, is transferred to St. Petersburg to return from there to the native Dikanka.
