From the lake flows channel Cy ([1]) , flowing into the channel of the Silver Amur River. Its name, Silver Channel, received from unsuccessful attempts to find silver ore in a hill located near this channel.
There are several islands on the lake, two of them are the most remarkable: Yadasen and Giudelgen .
- The island of Yadasan (or Yagdassan, or Tuff) , located in the middle of the lake, is known for its ancient extinct volcano . On the island there are remains of religious buildings of the Jurchens .
- Giudelgen Island (or Sable) . Volcanic origin, covered with forest. Located near the northeast coast.
On the islands of Jadasen and Giudelgen a lot of Nanai legends and stories have been composed.
- Once Jadasen and Giudelgen were a young man and a girl, but evil spirits turned them into stones ...
The rest of the islands are low-lying, sandy-silty, and can be flooded into large water .
The Bolonsky State Nature Reserve , formed in 1998, adjoins the southern part of the lake.
In 1994, the Bolon Lake and the estuaries of the Selgon and Simmi rivers were included in the list of wetlands of international importance falling under the Ramsar Convention [2] .
In hot summer, the water in the lake can warm up to +30 ° C.
Locations
On the left bank of the Sy channel, about three kilometers from the lake, is the Nanai village of Achan, Amur District of the Khabarovsk Territory .
On the northern coast (Olgot Bay) is the village of Teisin , from which there is a road to the station Teysin (line Komsomolsk-on-Amur - Volochaevka-2 , Far Eastern Railway ).
On the northwestern coast (the Gulf of Syumnyur) there is the village of Juen , the road from it goes to the village of Bolon and the station of the same name (the Komsomolsk-on-Amur line - Volochaevka-2 , Far Eastern Railway ).
On the right bank of the Amur River, opposite the entrance to the Silver Channel, there are villages Malmyzh and Verkhniy Nergen of the Nanaian District .
On the bank of the Silver Channel, presumably, there was the Achansky ostrog Erofei Khabarov ( 1651 - 1652 years ).
Shipping
The lake is shallow, available only for small boats .
Until the mid-1990s, in the summer from Amursk to the national village of Achan, the Zarya motor ship made regular passenger flights (via the Si channel and the Silver channel).
Flora and fauna
The lake area is home to 11 species of amphibians and reptiles, 179 species of birds and 40 species of mammals.
Lake Bolon is rich in fish, 52 species of fish inhabit.
Due to the shallow depth and due to warm water, algae are actively developing in the lake in summer.
In the rocks located on the shores of the lake, snakes live, including poisonous ones .
