The district of New London was created on May 10, 1666, by an act of the court of Connecticut, together with the three other first districts Fairfield , Hartford and New Haven , which formed the colony of Connecticut . As established in 1666, the district of New London consisted of cities, Norwich , New London , Cybrook and Killingworth, which was registered as a city in 1667 [1] . Several new cities were incorporated into the New London area over the following decades: Preston in 1687, Colchester in 1699, Lebanon in 1700.
