Title
In 1827, one of the representatives of the famous Ural industrial family of the Demidovs , Nikolai Demidov, bought the property of San Donato in Florence from the Santa Croce monks and began construction of a magnificent villa on this site. [3] Construction was completed in 1831 after his death by his son Anatoly Demidov . In 1841, he married Napoleon I's niece Matilda Bonaparte . Shortly before the wedding, Demidov received the title of Prince San Donato from the Grand Duke of Tuscany Leopold II , as Matilda's father wished her to remain a princess. [3]
However, the princely title of Demidov was not recognized in Russia . When Nicholas I found out about the newly made prince, he said: "Let him only remain a prince there." After the death in 1870 of the childless Anatoly Demidov, his fortune and title were inherited by his nephew Pavel Demidov . In February 1872, the Italian king Victor Emanuel II confirmed his title to the title, and in June of that year, the Russian emperor Alexander II recognized the princely title. [3] In order to own this title in Russia , it was necessary to own an estate with the same name in Russia. [four]
Therefore, in 1878, at the opening of the Ural Mining Railway, one of the stations was called San Donato .
History
Initially, tracks connecting the Vysokogorsky and Mednorudyansky mines, Nizhny Tagil and Vyisky plants went to the station. [five]

[5] In 1908–11, the Alapaevskaya (Salda) railway line was built, which directly connected the Salda plants with the enterprises of Nizhny Tagil . Through San Donato, the branch connected to the All-Russian railway network.
At the beginning of the 20th century, rich copper deposits were discovered near the station. In connection with their development, a village of the same name appeared near the station. In 1927, he was renamed the village of Rudnik them. III International , and later became part of Nizhny Tagil as a residential area.
In the mid- 20th century, the railway line passing through San Donato was electrified.
In the 80s of the XX century, the station building was demolished.
