Tasks
Founded in the United States in 1916 as the Society of Cinema Engineers - an international professional organization of film industry engineers [1] . In 1950, a television department was added in connection with the development of the television industry.
The organization develops standards of international importance. OIKiT has more than 400 standards, technological recommendations and design documentation for television, cinematography, digital cinema , sound recordings and medical images.
DECK endeavors to achieve the following goals:
- The development of industrial standards
- Improving education through seminars, exhibitions and conferences
- Discussion of the latest technological developments
- Facilitate networking and information sharing
Awards
Presents a number of awards. The highest award is the Medal of progress .
