Biography

Born in the family of Yuri Petrovich Voronov [1] .

He began his musical career with performances in amateur groups. In 1979, together with Nikolai Arutyunov, he created the League of the Blues group. In 1981, begins to play in the group "Gallery" [2] .

And in 1986 he was invited to the group of Stas Namin, with whom he toured with The Dinosaurs and Kenny Logins , with Peter Gabriel , Little Stephen and Lou Reed [3] .

In 1987, Voronov left the group of Stas Namin in order to recreate the “Blues League” with his friend Nikolai Arutyunov. In 1988, the group toured in Sweden, Colombia and Peru.

In the summer of that year, during a tour in New York, the famous session drummer Steve Jordan introduced Sergey Voronov to Keith Richards . Sergey Voronov takes part in the recording of his solo album “ Talk Is Cheap” (clapping on the track “Locked Away” [4] ) and takes away to Russia Richards gift - 1959 Fender Stratocaster guitar [2] [4] .

A few months later, Sergey leaves the “Blues League” and continues to work as a studio musician, touring with popular Russian rock groups, such as “ S Band” and “ SV ” [3] .

In 1990 Sergey created the Crossroadz group [5] (originally Crossroads, X-Roudz) [6] . It includes Andrey Butuzov (bass) and Alexander Toropkin (drums). Later, in the same year, Mikhail Savkin (guitar). In 1993, the first BETWEEN album was released in Paris, the track from which Diamond Rain became a hit in France and Russia. The band has been playing together for 25 years, recording 5 albums and releasing 2 live DVDs.

Together with Garik Sukachev, Sergey Voronov was at the forefront of the Untouchables project, created in 1995.

Voronov participated in the recording of the albums of Brigade S, Alice , Chayf , Time Machine , Kalinovy Bridge and others.

In 2009, Voronov released his solo album “Irony” [7] . The record was recorded by British guitarist Gary Moore .

In February 2016, Sergei, along with Sukachev and Galanin, became the "Legend" in the nomination of Our Radio
