Biography

He was born on April 6 (19), 1906 in the village of Lukashevka (now the Krasnograd district of the Kharkov region of Ukraine) in a peasant family. Ukrainian .

Graduated from 6 classes. He began to work in July 1914, first as a shepherd, then as a laborer. From August 1918 to July 1922, he lived with his parents, and after their death, with his older brother. (According to other sources, father and mother died in 1919 after being tortured by punitive troops of General Denikin’s troops because his father was the chairman of the committee of the poor, and his two older brothers and sister fought in the ranks of the Red Army).

From July 1922 to December 1923 he worked as a laborer for repairing the railway at the Poltava-Yuzhnaya station. From December 1923 to January 1925 he worked in the city of Krasnograd, Kharkov region, as a mill loader. From January 1925 to October 1928 he lived and worked on his farm in the village of Novo-Grigoryevka, Lukashevsky Village Council, Zachepilovsky District, Kharkov Region. Member of the Komsomol from 1922 to 1932 .

In the Red Army - since 1928 . He was a cadet of the regimental school, then - enrolled in the 74th infantry regiment of the 25th Chapaev Infantry Division ( Poltava ), where he served until 1939 . Member of the CPSU (party ticket No. 05539821) since February 1938 .

From November 1935 to May 1936 - student of the Military Economics Courses of the Molotov Military Academy ( Kharkov ). In May 1936 he was appointed commander of a heavy weapon company of the 74th Infantry Regiment of the 25th Infantry Division. In August 1937, Davydov became a student of the Higher Courses of staff commanders and courses of regiment commanders "Shot" of the Frunze Academy ( Moscow ), where he studied until June 1939 . Since June 1939, he headed the reconnaissance battalion of the 791st Infantry Regiment of the 135th Infantry Division (the city of Ostrog, Rivne Region ). He participated in the liberation campaigns of Soviet troops in Western Ukraine in 1939 and in Bessarabia in 1940.

Member of World War II from June 1941 , fought on the South-West, Voronezh and 1st Ukrainian fronts. During the war years he was wounded three times.

In November 1942, Davydov was instructed to head the 955th Infantry Regiment of the 309th Infantry Division (Voronezh Front). On the night of September 24, 1943, as the commander of this regiment, Major Ivan Davydov crossed the Dnieper near the village of Monastyryok (now within the urban-type settlement of Rzhishchev, Kiev region of Ukraine) with an advanced battalion under strong enemy fire, captured the bridgehead and secured the crossing of the main forces. Only during the period from September 25 to October 3, 1943, the Davydov regiment repelled 47 enemy counterattacks.

In the post of commander of the 955th Infantry Regiment, Davydov stayed until December 1943, after which he became deputy commander of the 309th (at that time Piryatinsky) infantry division. In January 1944, he was injured and was sent to the Moscow Military Hospital No. 5004 for treatment. From September 1944 he again headed the regiment - the 981st Infantry Regiment of the 253rd Infantry Division (1st Ukrainian Front). In February 1945, he was again wounded and evacuated to the Lviv Military Hospital No. 47617. In March 1945 he became deputy commander of the 314th Infantry Division (1st Ukrainian Front).

After the war, I.E. Davydov received leave for injury and illness. In July 1945, he began teaching at the courses of the Local Military Administration ( Novosibirsk ), where he taught tactics. In December 1945, he became a senior lecturer in tactics, and in March 1946, he became deputy head of courses at the MOBU for combat units (the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsk, Kemerovo Region). From May to September 1946 he led the tactical cycle at the same courses.

From December 1948 to August 1951 he worked as chairman of the Krasnaya Zarya collective farm , then in the same position on the Bolshevik collective farm (the village of Soldatskoye, Rakityansky district, Kursk region , and now the Belgorod region).

He died on June 5, 1963, was buried at the memorial "Mass grave" in the city of Krasnograd, Kharkov region of Ukraine.
