Stepanos Syunetsi (first)

Stepanos Syunetsi , ( Armenian Ստեփանոս Սյունեցի ; years of birth and see unknown) - Armenian poet and musician of the 5th century [1] , bishop of Syunik [1] . He was probably one of the younger students of Mesrop Mashtots and Sahak Partev . In the Armenian “ Sharaknets ” 80 of his works have been preserved [1] . The works of Syunetsi are distinguished by high artistic value, emotional spontaneity and expressiveness. His poems and hymns (“Blessing of the Resurrection”) preserved the characteristic features of the Armenian hymnography of the second half of the fifth century.
