In 2003, Hadise took part in the show "Idol" (in Russia, " Become a star "). Despite the fact that Hadise was far from winning - she did not enter the final ten, she was noticed and offered to sign a contract to record her debut album.
Sweat (2005–2006)
Shortly after her appearance on the Idol show, Hadise received an offer from the 2Brains Entertainment Group manager Johan Hendrix to record the first album. On November 1, 2004, the debut single Sweat came out, which reached number 19 on the Ultratop 50 chart. First, Hadise released the singles Stir Me Up ( May 6, 2005 ) - which gained popularity both in Belgium and in Turkey - and Milk Chocolate Girl (September 9 2005), which reached the 13th spot on the Ultratop 50 charts. The first video was filmed for the song Stir me up .
A year after the release of the first single, November 3, 2005, Hadise released her debut album, Sweat. Produced by Yves Gailard and Serge Ramaekers, his style was defined as urban pop with influences of jazz , soul , funk and oriental music. As a bonus, the album featured the song “Sakin Gitme”. Eurovision Song Contest (2009)
Despite the fact that back in 2006, Hadise said that she would never take part in Eurovision after her friend Kate Ryan , who represented Belgium at this contest in 2006, could not reach the final, Hadise still expressed her desire to represent Turkey on Eurovision 2009 in Moscow . On October 24, 2008, TRT Director General Ibrahim Sahim confirmed the participation of Hadise in the competition.
Hadise herself controlled the production of the song for the contest. She had the right to choose the style, music, poems and language of the future composition. She told the Belgian newspapers that she wanted to represent Turkey, not Belgium, because she had already won many Belgian awards and, moreover, the competition in Turkey was more popular [8] .
December 31, 2008 there was a presentation of the song from which Hadise will represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. This is the song " Crazy For You " or "Düm Tek Tek".
As a result, at Eurovision Hadise took fourth place.
On May 15, 2009, Capitol Records released in Belgium the third studio album of the singer, called Fast Life [9] . For 2 weeks in June, Fast Life maintained the 16th line of the Flemish charts [9] .
Criticism
Hadise was repeatedly criticized for her sexual image and clothes.
The video for the song “Deli oğlan” was severely criticized in Turkey. Scenes in which Hadise participated together with the model , the Turkish media considered erotic . The most piquant moments were cut [10] .
The choice of Hadise as the representative of Turkey at Eurovision 2009 was very controversially met by other musicians of the country [11] .
Armenian Question
On September 2, 2009, in her interview with Show TVnet, Hadise emotionally supported the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border and expressed a desire to become a “dove of peace” in order to help reconcile the peoples-neighbors. According to the singer, Armenia and Turkey are fraternal countries, and the border between them should be opened [12] . Hadise invited Eurovision 2009 participants from Armenia - Ingu and Anush Arshakyan to come to Turkey with a concert. The joint concert of the Turkish singer and the Armenian duet was not chosen by chance. On October 14, 2009, a return football match was held in Turkey as part of the qualifying games for the European Championship, which was visited by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. In Turkey and Azerbaijan, the Hadith interview was very critical. The famous Turkish newspaper Hurriyet urged Turkish citizens not to buy Hadise discs and ignore her concerts.
Nahid Emiloglu, the organizer of the Hadith concerts in Azerbaijan, told APA news agency that he would no longer organize Hadise concerts and that it would be better for her not to come to Baku after the interview with Show TVnet.
According to the Posta newspaper, the words of the singer in relation to Armenia hit her image in Turkey very strongly. As the newspaper notes, she made a big mistake.
Impact
According to Hadise herself, such artists as Shakira , Christina Aguilera , Janet Jackson , Prince , Alisha Keese and Mariah Carey [13] had a major influence on her work. Hadith is often called “Turkish Beyonce ” [14] , but the Turkish-Belgian singer herself doesn’t like this comparison:
“As an artist, I don't want to imitate anyone. I am inspired by many artists, but I am not someone else's imitator. ”
