Matra ( acronym for French. Mécanique Avion TRAction ) is a French auto racing team that competed in the Formula 1 World Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance marathon.

Jackie Stewart in 1969 runs the Matra MS80 at the Nurburgring . The car is painted in "French racing blue" color.
She debuted in 1966, after the eponymous French company Matra (then one of the leading manufacturers of aerospace systems and weapons) acquired Rene Bonnet (Rene Bonnet) in 1965 to produce sports and racing cars.
Team Matra participated in the 1967 - 1972 Formula 1 seasons.
Matra-Ford won the 1969 Constructors' Championship with Jackie Stewart .
