Content
Story
The main character shoots his wife with a pistol in the head for cheating with another man. Then he makes a few more shots in the air and waits for the arrival of the police. The police take the gun from him and receive a written confession about the crime. No one doubts the guilt of the protagonist, and everyone believes that the outcome of the trial is obvious. But something in the suspect is wrong. He immediately refuses the lawyer and additional privileges, behaves very confidently. The results of the examination showed that they never shot at all from the pistol that was taken from the suspect. No traces of the victim’s blood were found on the clothes; no traces of gunpowder were found on the hands. A repeated search of the house - the crime scene - yielded nothing. Soon another fact becomes clear that leads to a scandal: the victim's lover, who was a policeman, interrogated the suspect. Therefore, all accusatory confessions of the suspect are canceled, as they could have been obtained under pressure. Thus, the court does not have any conviction, and the suspect is acquitted. But one careless action of the protagonist leads to the fact that the prosecution has new evidence, and he is again arrested. How will the new trial end?
