Orange Juice is a British rock band formed in Glasgow , Scotland in 1979 by singer , guitarist , frontman Edwin Collins (formerly a member of Nu-Sonics), as well as James Kirk and Stephen Daily, members of The Machetes. [one]

The group, which performed melodic guitar pop punk (enriched by funk and disco influences after the arrival of drummer Zika Manyika), became the striking force of the Postcard Records label , formed by Alan Horne. Here, in 1980, the debut single Falling And Laughing was released , after which the press proclaimed Orange Juice the leaders of the “new Scottish pop revival” [2]
Orange Juice released three studio albums; all of them were in the British Top 40 . The group achieved the highest result in the UK Singles Chart with "Rip It Up" (February 1983, # 8) [3] .
