History

The Alicante Club, under a different name, appeared in 1918, joining the Valencia Football Federation five years later, whose first president (club) was Joaquin Thomas Terol. The vast majority of the football seasons the team spent in Tercera . For several short periods, the club also performed in the Spain Second Football League (1939–40 - as a football club; as well as 1951–52 and 1956–58). For eight years in the 1960s, he also acted as a farm club Ecrules ( Spanish Hércules CF ).

In the 2000s, the club firmly established itself as one of the strongest in Segunda B , losing only in consecutive playoff games. In 2007–08, Alicante returned to the second division again. Also this season the club has reached 4 rounds of the Spanish Football Cup 2007–2008 having lost 2-3 in the sum of two matches to Real Madrid football club.

Faced with serious economic problems, Alicante brilliantly performed in the first part of the season at Segunda División 2008-09, but ultimately left the division. The difficult financial situation continued in the following years, and on July 1, 2011, at the end of the 2010–11 season, the team flew to the fourth division - Tercer, unable to pay their players on time.
