Modifications

There are 2 modifications of the car:

  • 71-154 - a two-way (shuttle) tram car with an asynchronous drive, designed for operation on city, suburban lines, as well as metrotram tunnel lines with right-hand and left-hand traffic with a gauge of 1524 mm. Designed in 2008 for the Volgograd high-speed tram system [1] . November 20, 2008 began testing the first instance. On December 10, 2008 the tests were completed and by decision of the Interdepartmental Commission (MVK) the car was recommended for mass production. On December 13, 2008 the tram was sent to Volgograd and received tail number 5838. On December 29, 2008, it was presented, and on January 20, it began working with passengers. [2] On May 28, 2009, a second copy was sent [3] , which arrived on May 31 and received tail number 5839. Plans were announced to order another 14 copies [4] . Also planned, but never took place, deliveries to Kazan [5] .
  • 71-154М - a one-way tram car with an asynchronous drive, designed for operation on city, suburban lines with a turning ring, and with a track gauge of 1524 mm. Designed in 2009 for the high-speed tram system of Kiev .

Cost

The price of prototype cars 71-154 was (including 18% VAT) 75 million rubles. [6] , and 71-154M - 45 million 666 thousand rubles. [7] . The price of a car from a batch intended for delivery to Volgograd in 2011 is more than 87 million rubles. [8] , but taking into account the rise in price of a car under a leasing agreement.

Further fate

Due to the bankruptcy of PTMZ, further production of this model is stopped. There were several sections in the plant with varying degrees of readiness, which were sawn in 2016.

The second similar tram, according to the contract, will be delivered to Volgograd in the summer of 2009. Thus, having created a car of a similar class, the plant came close to creating rolling stock for LRT systems (light rail transport). In Russia, they started talking about this type of transport only with the advent of high-speed tram projects.
