Acherra in ESBE
At the end of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century, this settlement was described as follows in the pages of the Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary :
“ Acerra (Acerra) is a city in Italy. the province of Caserta (Terra di Lavoro), with Rome-Neapolitan zhel. the road, 14 km to NE from Naples, the residence of the bishop; 14,121 people are considered residents in Acherra.
