History
In 1826, Said Ahmad Barelvi and his supporters arrived in Peshawar . With the help of local Pashtun tribes, he managed to briefly seize power and create in Peshawar a state that lives under Sharia law [2] . However, at the end of 1830, the discontent of the local population with the tax policy grew into rebellions and the forced flight of Barelvi and his supporters.
