Departure of General Omelchenko

Crossroads of General Omelchenko is a railway station on the Luga direction of the October Railway. The station is located in the Luga district of the Leningrad region between Partizanskaya and Luga I stations.

Despite the name “Departure”, this is not a departure, but a station, with great track development and cargo work. [2]

2.5 km northeast is the village of Novye Krupeli . The town of Luga is 3.5 km south.

Near the station there is a training ground of the VTU Railway Forces and a military camp. The station serves landfill facilities. To the west of the station is a training railway ring.

A diesel locomotive-monument TKG2 is installed near the station. [3]

Previously, the station was called the 131 km exit . On May 16, 2001, it was called the General Omelchenko rally - in honor of Lieutenant General V. G. Omelchenko [4] .
