Pikkel, Ivan Khristianovich

Ivan Khristianovich Pikkel , Johann Wilhelm Zakarias Pikkel ( German: Johann Wilhelm Zacharias Pickel ; 1829 - 1902 ) - Russian violinist of German origin.

He graduated from the Leipzig Conservatory , a student of Ferdinand David . Since 1847 in Russia. He played in the orchestra of the Italian Opera, since 1855 the accompanist of the Mariinsky Theater . Since 1855 , the first violin in the quartet of the St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Musical Society, in which its partners were Jeronim Weikman and Karl Davydov (and later Alexander Verzhbilovich ); in the future, after the arrival of Leopold Auer in Russia, he often played the second violin in this ensemble.
