Biography
Roman Malinovsky was born on February 26, 1935 in the city of Bialystok in a working family. In 1956 - 1958 he worked in the Union "Peasant Mutual Assistance". In 1956 he joined the United Peasant Party, a member of the ruling communist coalition. In 1958 - 1963 he worked in the Central Union of Loan and Savings Cooperatives. He graduated from the Higher School of Planning and Statistics in Warsaw. Doctor of Economic Sciences. In 1963 - 1969 he worked in the Main Committee of the United Peasant Party. In 1969 - 1971 - Deputy Chairman of the Central Union of Dairy Cooperatives.
In 1971 - 1975 - Chairman of the People’s Council of the Lodz Voivodeship, then - Lodz Voivode.
Since 1976 - Member of the Sejm. In 1975 - 1976 - member of the secretariat of the Main Committee of the OKP, in 1976 - 1980 - Secretary of the Main Committee, member of the Presidium of the Main Committee of the OKP. In 1980 - Minister of Food Industry and Procurement.
Repeatedly visited the USSR.
In November 1981 - September 1989, Roman Malinowski was chairman of the Main Committee of the United Peasant Party of Poland. At the same time in 1981 - 1986 he was chairman of the Council on Food Economy and deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland (until 1985 ). Also in 1982 - 1983 he was a member of the Presidium of the Executive Committee of the All-Polish National Revival Movement. In 1985 - 1989, the Marshal of the Sejm of the NDP, from 1987 he was chairman of the All-Polish Council of the Society of Polish-Soviet Friendship .
In August 1989, General Cheslaw Kiszczak , appointed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland, proposed Malinovsky’s candidacy for the post of head of government as a compromise figure, but the cabinet was formed by Tadeusz Mazowiecki .
In September 1989, he left the ranks of the United Peasant Party. Then he joined the Polish Peasant Party .
