Alexandria (Stavropol Territory)

Alexandria - a village [3] as part of the Georgievsky district (urban district) of the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation . Until 2017, [4] was the administrative center of the rural settlement, Alexandria Village Council [5] [6] .

Geography

It is located 14 km northwest of the center of Georgievsk on the left bank of the Kuma , between the Mineralnye Vody - Georgievsk railway station ( Vinogradnaya station) and the Mineralnye Vody - Budennovsk highway. The village is stretched for 7 km along the Kuma Valley, about 1100 hectares are built up, has semi-quarterly and perimeter quarterly buildings.

History

Founded presumably in 1783 [7] or in 1784 [1] . The name of the village was in honor of Alexander Nevsky [7] .

In 1929, collective farms were formed in the village: them. Lenin (in 1951, merged with the collective farm. Budyonny) [9] , them. Kalinin (in 1951 joined the enlarged collective farm. Lenin) [10] , them. Budennogo (in 1951 joined the Molotov enlarged collective farm) [11] and others. In 1930, the Alexandria Machine and Tractor Station was created (existed until 1958), which had 17 tractor brigades and served 9 collective farms [12] .

Since 1935, Alexandria is the center of the newly formed Alexandria-Obilnensky district [7] . After the abolition of the district in 1953, the village was included in the Georgievsky district.

In 2008, the official symbols of the Alexandria Village Council - the coat of arms and flag [13] [14] were approved.

In June 2016, the village was flooded due to heavy rains [15] .
