Graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1972), Higher Diplomatic Courses at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (2002). He speaks English and Spanish .

Since 1972 - in the diplomatic service.

  • 1993 - 1995 - Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Chile .
  • 1995 - 1998 - Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cuba .
  • 1998 - 2000 - Head of the Department of the Consular Service of the Russian Foreign Ministry .
  • 2000 - 2002 - Deputy Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
  • July 2, 2002 - June 24, 2004 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Ecuador [1] [2] .
