Biography

Antonina Abarinova was born in the family of Ivan A. Abarinov, police chief Vladimir (later a real state adviser, colonel, caretaker of the St. Petersburg city prison Lithuanian castle ). She was educated at the St. Petersburg Patriotic Institute. She studied singing in St. Petersburg , Milan ; in 1874 she took lessons from Pauline Viardot in Paris; her memories of meetings with Turgenev I.S. in Bougival and the lessons of P. Viardot were preserved.

She performed on provincial opera stages ( contralto , later mezzo-soprano ) in Tiflis, Odessa, Moscow. In 1872, she successfully performed the part of Perikola in Offenbach 's operetta “ Songbirds ” in St. Petersburg , after which she was enrolled in the staff of the Imperial Theaters in St. Petersburg , where she successfully performed various roles, both Russian and foreign repertoire . The first performer of the party Hostesses of the inn in the opera “ Boris Godunov ” by Mussorgsky (full version of the 1874 edition), as well as such parties as Vanya in the opera by M. In 1878 she left the opera and until the end of her life served in the Alexandrinsky Theater . She created a gallery of unforgettable images of Russian theatrical classics - Kharita Ignatyevna Ogudalova in "Bride", Mamaeva - "For every sage is quite simple" Ostrovsky A. N. , Gorodnichikha - Examiner (comedy) , Polina Andreevna Shamraeva in the first production of Chekhov 's play "The Seagull ". These and other roles became evidence that Antonina Abarinova took, as critics wrote, "one of the main provisions in the drama troupe."

Her stage work was marked by imperial attention - on January 26, 1891 by Abarinova, “A graciously merited bracelet with sapphire and diamonds from the Cabinet of His Imperial Majesty”.

It was the finest hour of Alexandrinsky; its partners were Komissarzhevskaya Vera Fedorovna , Medvedev Peter Mikhailovich , Davydov Vladimir Nikolaevich , Varlamov Konstantin Alexandrovich , Dalsky Mammoth Viktorovich , Strelskaya Varvara Vasilievna and others.

For several years she was married to Nikolai Petrovich Reichelt, a mining engineer.

She was buried at the Nikolsky cemetery of the Alexander Nevsky Lavra .
