Biography

Born and raised in the Montevideo Barrio Sur quarter. Victor is the nephew of Jose Leandro Andrade , the 1930 world champion who played on the right side of the team. This led to the decision to follow in the footsteps of a famous relative. He spent his youthful years in the "wild" teams of his native quarter.

He played professionally for clubs from Montevideo Central Espanyol and Peñarol . As part of the latter, he twice won the championship of Uruguay.

Only Rodriguez Andrade and Obdulio Varela became both 1950 world champions and South America champions. He also took part in the 1954 World Cup , where Uruguay took 4th place, as well as in the UW-1947 (bronze) and UW-1955.

The last match for the national team Rodriguez Andrade spent June 5, 1957 against Argentina . At the end of his career as a football player, he became a sports official, organized the August 25 basketball team, which played in the Uruguayan basketball championship . When Rodriguez Andrade passed away, the Uruguayan Parliament was adjourned, and Senator Luis Hierro Gambardella announced the event.

In 2005, in honor of the centenary of the founding of the Central Espanyol club in Uruguay, stamps were issued with the club's three most significant figures - 1950 world champions Rodriguez Andrade, his partner Luis Riho (who was on the team’s application) and Juan Lopez, the national team coach at the tournament .
